Newlyweds04 Posted August 26, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2004 We are going on the Summit and will dock in Costa Rica (10/28) and Colon, Panama (10/29). We were wondering what kind of weather to expect, and what there was to do. We didn't see any excursions we want to go on. Is there a lot to do at port? Thanks for the help! browndog Posted September 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2004 Haven't been to Colon, Panama yet, but from reading reviews and other people's experiences it sounds like you really do not want to venture far from the ship in Colon unless you are part of an organized shore excursion. People have run into trouble (being robbed, etc.)even near the ship yards. My niece was there a year ago on a cruise stop and one of the passengers was stabbed in the shipyard area. browndog Posted October 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2004 You might want to check Celebrity's home page to look at the October 25 itinerary. The port stop order has changed. You will be in Costa Rica on Oct. 31 and Colon on Oct.30. Not sure why the change in order of stops. We are scrambling to contact shore excursion vendors (not booked through the cruise line) to change our reservations with them.
