Grand Cayman Tourist Related businesses - projected opening dates

Thanks for the information. We are scheduled to stop at Grand Cayman and if we do it's good to see some things are back in order!

Island Marketing has said that the excurion I booked for 11/09 is up and running--the big question is whether or not Miracle will be one of the 2 ships allowed to stop at GC that day.

We will be on Conquest, with scheduled stop in Grand Cayman on 11/18.
Am keeping our fingers crossed that we will be still able to visit there.

Has anyone heard when the Ritz Carlton will be open? I read on their website their opening was delayed due to the hurricanes. Has anyone seen exactly where this hotel is - is it on a nice beach?

The Ritz is on Seven Mile Beach, which was a beach before Hurricane Ivan only in parts. I think there was plenty of sand in that area when I was there a year ago, but at the Marriott, there was no beach at all. They were in the process of sinking artificial reefs to try to build the beach back up. I hope they succeed.
