We have booked this cruise, and I would like to know from those who

have went in April, how was the weather while you were there?

What excursions really impressed you?

And if you went on the Coral Princess, what was your experience?

We were on the Dawn Princess Canal transit last April - about a week later than you will be in the Canal. The weather was spectacular! We had showers several days as we sailed through the Caribbean but clear skies and warm weather in the Canal. It wasn't as hot as I had been warned; as a matter of fact it was really pleasant on deck. As a matter of fact, it was so comfortable that I stayed out much too long and forgot to renew my sunblock. I ended up with a bright red Panama sunburn! When the naturalist onboard reminds you to wear sunblock, take him seriously! Hopefully your weather will be as nice as ours. There were no excursions offered because it was a complete transit - we stopped on the Pacific side in Puerto Amador for a couple of hours. At that time the ship offered two excursions - one to Panama City at night and one to see the evening working of the Canal. Getting off the ship for any other reason in that port is probably a waste of time as there was really nothing there but 2 or 3 shops.

Sue,

thank you for sharing your experience.

I do hope this April will be similar to your experience last year.

My folks (who are 85 and 80) really want to see the Canal.

However, I don't think they realize how hot it could be. And I am

a little concerned about that. My Mom in particular does not do

real well in extremely hot weather. At this point, I am even thinking

about moving our deposit to another cruise, where the weather wouldn't

be quite so extreme. At the same time I do not want to deny them what

could be an awesome experience.
