How do the onboard credit gift cert. work?

I would like to purchase onboard credit as a gift for my son and give it to him before our cruise (we leave Fri. for miami). I was wondering if they send you something in the mail or just issue the credit directly to his account. Thank you very much.

I have bought them for myself in the past (easy way to budget over the year for a cruise) and they will credit them to his account, and put a note in his room (like a note that comes with flowers).

Just call the 800 number, no need to do the fax thing, but do ask for an ammenity confrimation.

I give them to my fellow cruisers all the time, and get them in return as well. You just call the 800 number and have the credit placed on their booking number. You will have it charged to your credit card. When they arrive, there will be a typed note waiting in their cabin with the amount and any message you wanted them to print.
