3boyswrestle Posted May 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2010 Hi everyone! My family and I are new to cruising and I am so happy to find this message board full of great info from the pros. I want to thank everyone for all their helpfullness. My husband and I will be taking our two boys (ages 14 and 11) on the Jewel 6/26/10 to the bahamas. I see that there will be 6 ships in port that day. I want to take the local bus to the Cable beach Sheraton and buy the daypass that they advertise on their website. However, when I called the number they told me I can't buy that ahead, just pay when I get there. I am concerned with the crowds that the resort may fill up and we would be shut out. Has anyone tried to get a day pass at the Sheraton on a crowded day? If we are at the resort, how much time should we allow to get back to the ship? Do we need to keep our passports with us or leave them on the ship? Any advice on fun (but not overly expensive) things to do in Nassau for day with kids, would be greatly appreciated. Once again, thanks for your terrific help!:)
youngestof9 Posted May 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2010 Hi - you might want to ask this question on the Bahamas port of call board - you might get more replies from cruisers from all lines and some local Bahamians who post there. good luck :) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
tonyrobin Posted May 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2010 Hi, I just wanted to let you know that when we went to Cable Beach it wasn't that nice. They were doing jetskis right off of the beach and there was oil in the water. The beach was really crowded and we just were not impressed. Of course we had fun but it was because my husband and I were together.
