Grandeur- 1/29/05 review

We just returned from the Royal Grandeur cruise from N.O. I thought I would just pass on a few items we felt RCCL could improve upon.

First of all we found the food and service in the Gatsby dining room outstanding, (although our waiter had the personality of a wet noodle).

We found just about every staff member we dealt with in the Windjammer to be rude and never smiled.

We rarely saw our cabin stewards, although the service was great.

The tender system in Grand Cayman was a fiascal, when we pulled into the port and seen 5 other cruise ships there all the excursions should have tendered first. our Stingray City tour was to start at 10:30, we arrived at 12:30. It cost us 2 hours of shopping and sight seeing.

Why when 1 singer hurt her foot the whole production was shut down?? seems kinda weird to not have a backup? or does her foot affect her singing? she could have sat on a chair and sang?

Overall the cruise was very enjoyable but not sure if we would hurry back to RCCL.

ps. Was anyone else offended by speedo man?

Me & wife were there a week before and we didnt go to any production shows, not are thing. but the dinning room was great. we couldnt stay up for the gala buffet maybe next time. I agree with Grand Cayman we had tender #3, i couldnt believe people were runnin for those tender tickets WoW. it taken over an hour & half to call are ticket #. You wouldnt believe the line waiting for the excursions. About 12 we were off. I think they need to improve on this or arrive early than 10 am. It just dont give ppl enough time on the island to do anything.

Also just returned from the Grandeur on 1/29. We found very little to complain about, if anything. Sorry about your waiter, Mikeyy, but, much to the contrary, we had a great time with our waiter/waitress in the dining room. We did notice that when we tried to chat with waiters in the Windjammer, we were met with little or no replies and expression-less faces. We actually felt sorry for the Windjammer waiters as we thought they were either (1) over worked or (2) told not to talk. Quite a difference from the waiters in the dining room! Was impressed with the cleanliness and infection control (in light of many other ships bringing passengers back ill). Noticed only a very faint smell when walking down to deck 2. Did not get tied up in the tender ticket fiasco. Opted for the casino instead of the production shows but the two we did see were very nice. Felt we received excellent quality for the price we paid.
