Grand Cayman

I need some seriously help figuring out Grand Cayman Time, so we can figure out excursion times if we decide to go private.

We will be in GC in December on RCCL, RCCL has told me the ship will stay on Eastern time, and that in December GC will be an hr behind the ship... However, GC is an hr behind right now and we observe Daylight savings and GC will not. So wouldn't that make the ship and GC on the same time?

The Cayman Islands do not observe Daylight Savings Time.

In December the Cayman Islands are on the same time as Miami. I would expect that ship time should be the same as island time during your visit. Not sure why your cruise line said differently.

I got an email from Moby Dick tour confirming a reservation. I said the ship time is hour behind.

here what it said:

Plan to check in with us as soon as you are tendered in. You are booked on our 9.00am island time tour. Which is 8.00am ship time as Conquest is 1hr behind us.

We're leaving NOLA. How this helps.

A ship with departure from New Orleans may keep its ship's clock on the Central Time zone. You are traveling during the winter months - not during Daylight Savings Time. You were advised correctly by your tour operator. At the time of your visit the ship's time is likely to be one hour behind island time. (ie, 8:00am ship time = 9:00am island time)

Tour operators who regularly work with cruise ships are very good at coordinating these schedules. Their reputations depend on providing a good experience to their guests. Making sure tours meet on time and no one ever gets left by a departing cruise ship are vital to all tour operators.
