Any views on this ship appreciated. If you are referring to the old MV Discovery that is getting converted to become the "new" Ocean Countess, there were certainly no tea making options in the cabins though 24 hour tea and coffee was available on the Lido deck. The ship is undergoing refurbishments before sailing under its new name, what they actually do and what they provide under new ownership is changing as we speak. While we loved her as the MV Discovery, she was an old fashion ship offering wonderful itineraries and excellent enrichment lectures but extremely basic for all other typical cruise ship amenities. She was a traveling ship; not a cruise vacation ship.
Worm61 Posted September 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Came back off the Ocean Countess just last Friday so while we were waiting to disembark we could get drinks etc using cash ...the drinks on board were £5 for a full glass of wine , brandy was cheaper less the £3 because it's a smaller portion there was a lager beer less than £3 also martini rosso less than £3 as it's a smaller portion all the prices do not have a 15% charge as well so what see on the bar list is what you pay for :) i put £260 cash up front & got back £150 for a 5 night cruise but i also bought a wine package of 5 bottles wine for dinner for £80 with 10 bottles of water ...:D and we had a great time on her
