Turkish visa?

Recommended Posts

I undersand that you now need a visa when visiting Turkey. My question is...if you are on the ship when you enter Turkey and do not overnight there, do you need a visa? The Zierer visa service website says cruiseships not staying overnight and just visiting for the day are the exception...just wondering if anyone has done this recently...thankyou.

I have always either embarked or disembarked in Istanbul and HAVE needed the visa. Either way it is a piece of cake.

Upon arrival at the airport in IST you obtain a Turkish visa for $20 before going through immigration. Disembarking in IST you will find that a Turkish visa has magically appeared in your passport and your shipboard account has been charged $20.

If you NEED one when you are in transit (that I don't know) the ship will take care of it for you. One less thing to worry about.
