Cell wi fi in Alaska

If you use your cell phone while the ship is underway, you will connect to the ship's cell tower and receive a hefty surcharge on your Verizon bill. We ALWAYS put our phones on airplane mode while onboard...this also disables the internet. Service in the towns is excellent....however, if you use your phone in Vancouver, you will be charged a roaming fee as you in not in the US. While in port, the ship is supposed to turn off their cell towers.
