Miami Hotel Question

We are going to be getting off of the Liberty on a Saturday and will not be flying home until the next day. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap hotel as well as something we could do on that day as well? Are there any good beaches near the port? I don't know my way around this area so any help would be great! Thanks :)

They're probably going to move this over to the Florida board. :)

Anyway, you could try for the Holiday Inn Port of Miami, or Intercontinental. Both are within walking distance of Bayside Market (HIPOM is right across the street.) http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/ Fun place to stroll around and grab a bite to eat. Its right on the marina. There is also a spot where there is usually a band and dancers. Should be about a $10 cab ride from the port (including tip) to this area.

Once there, you could grab a cab for about $15 and head over to South Pointe Park, which is the waterway where the cruise ships leave Miami - you could watch the Liberty leave again. :p

If you're headed to MIA on Sunday, its about a $25 cab ride (flat rate) to the airport.

You can go check out South Beach (not very far). You can also jump on at a metrorail station (orange line) and get to the airport for $2.35 pp.:)
