Disembarking in Monte Carlo-where to stay after that

We will be finishing our cruise next year in Monte Carlo. Would like to stay a couple days in the area, but MC seems very extravagant and above our budget

Any suggestions where we could get to easily and spend a couple days after our cruise? thanks in advance for any help

You could stay in Nice as there are many hotels to chose from and you can do day trips easy from there if you want.Another place would be Menton which is not so touristy,but more relaxing I say,and a neat place to explore with some nioce hotels that will not break the budget. It also has good train and bus service to other places along the coast.You can check out Venere.com for hotels in either place.

We are staying for a week in Menton this June and 2 days prior to that in Nice. We chose Menton as it was reasonably priced and easily accessible, less than 10kms from Monte Carlo, beautiful scenery (as all of the riviera is, by the look of it), close to the Italian border and not as crowded as many of the other towns.

We were planning on staying in Nice. Stayed there before, but now I am looking into Menton as well. It looks fantastic.
