Suggested time to arrive at Galveston?

Can you suggest or recommend the time we should arrive at Galveston port to possibly avoid longer lines?

Last RC cruise from there we got there as the previous cruise passengers were departing & it was quite hectic. We'll be driving so we're flexible. Any tips would help or other threads that have this information.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

2pm would be a good time to avoid lines. Staterooms are open and Windjammer should not be as crowded as at noon. Just don't get there too late because you must be checked-in at least 90 minutes before scheduled sailing time.

We always say we are going to get to the ship after 12 but we are always too excited to wait !! This November we might try to hold off until 2 ..... I've been on the ship watching people board later in the afternoon and they seem to breeze right on board.

Great info we usually try to arrive early too excited to sit and our hotel room and too cheap to pay for another meal. :D I agree arriving early can be extremely hectic. I think 1-2 would be a good time, the staterooms would be open so you could go directly to your stateroom if you wanted.

We usually arrive at E-Z Cruise Parking around 9:30, and are at the

Cruise terminal about 10:00. We have found that the lines and the wait depend

On how early or late the prior cruisers’ are released off the ships.

We are too excited to wait around at the Hotel...

I'm one of those who always get places early, especially if there is a deadline to get there and I'm driving same day. Always chance of flat tire or wreck on the highway that delays arriving time. May also run into some beach traffic the later you try to arrive. Waiting in line is a price I'll pay to insure I'm there and ship don't sail without me.;)

We just sailed on May 11 and arrived at the pier around 10:30am and traffic was light and there were maybe 100 people in line. As soon as we started to get in line a RCI employee said if there were any Platimum, Emerald or Diamond to follow her. We did and were completely checked in 10 minutes later! I am totally spoiled now and will always arrive early!

We were right behind you at 11:30. It was quiet and calm with maybe 4 or 5 people in front of us. I doubt we waited more than one or two minutes to be called to check in. We went straight to the Windjammer which was already jam packed. Now that's a first. There were 6 of us and we were expecting 4 more so we finally took that huge round booth in desperation. Since no one leaves until the rooms are ready, I'd bump the time up to 10:30 just to be able to sit and relax. (We did vacate and sat around the pool … )
