Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 20, 2014 Author #26 Share Posted July 20, 2014 I love sea days. Waking up when I want. One thing I like is the relaxed breakfast in MDR, now it is the sea brunch. Off to brunch with a table full of drinks. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr Eggs Benedict are one of my favorite foods, so much I have to promise, I won't just have them, but will try other items on the menu. I ordered cheese grits, but got plain grits, I tried to add butter and salt, but they were what non-grit eaters think of grits. I had plenty to eat, especially with the breakfast pastries and breads. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr Then it was off to the spa, then bingo, then I went to cruise talk to hear about the breeze and the ports. Matt was the cruise director. I thought he was also on the Glory when we were in New England. For the most part I am fairly indifferent to the CDs, but I know some people are very partial to some of them. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr
Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 20, 2014 Author #27 Share Posted July 20, 2014 There was a little casino time. Then lunch. I went to the BBQ place, it is only open for a few hours on sea days, and the lines are long. The line moves and the view is great. Oh and the BBQ is good, I liked the meat and sauce but really liked the grilled veggies and cream corn. They had a drink vendor outside, because I needed to have a Coke to go with the BBQ. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr After a while it was time for Bingo poolside on the big screen. My husband is a smoker, while I am not, but he always wants to sit where he can smoke if he wants. So that is the level we were on. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr

Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 20, 2014 Author #29 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Great review! I can't wait to see the specialty restaurants and the other public areas. I am trying to decide if I want to buy a spa pass for the week of my cruise. Thanks. We had dinner at both the steakhouse and Italian restaurant, both were great. We always get the spa pass, on a ship as large as the Breeze, it is nice to have a place to go where you know it won't be crowded.
Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 20, 2014 Author #30 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Lobster night was one of our nights to eat together, even though he does not eat lobster. When we discussed when we were going to go, my suggestion was go to the piano bar and leave from there. He said he did not want to go to piano bar, he went to one before for 5 minutes and decided he did not like it. But he finally relented. BTW, I have a sign at my desk which reads "April, I should have listened to you, you were right." This was another one of those times. My martinis on the piano bar: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr After 45 minutes and when the set was over, my husband complained and wanted to know what we were going to do waiting for him to start again. Um, dinner, like we planned. Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 20, 2014 Author #33 Share Posted July 20, 2014 I went to my first champagne art auction: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr I bought a package of 3 prints. Afterwards I wanted lunch and it was after 2, so there was the deli, guys, room service or pizza. Let me get pizza. There was an incredibly rude man who kept yelling at the pizza guy, because he did not understand what he wanted, at one point the guy jumped up and down, then he asked me why the guy did not understand. I didn't explain that he insisted on speaking Spanish to the man whose name tag said he was from the Philippines. Hey not everyone who works in food service speaks spanish. The pizza guy got very flustered and as i was next he insisted I take both pizzas when I only wanted one, well they were thin, so: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr
Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 20, 2014 Author #34 Share Posted July 20, 2014 If you are on a ship with the Italian restaurant, go. It is $12 and such a good meal. Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 20, 2014 Author #39 Share Posted July 20, 2014 We split the shore excursions up, my husband will pick half and I will pick half. My choices were St. Maarten and Grand Turk. We went to St. Maarten with RCL with Oasis, I know everyone loves that ship, but we were the exception. The excursion to St. Maarten was not enjoyable, we were supposed to go to Orient Beach, but the tour guide said no, there was no reason to go there and we spent most of the day riding around. The next time we took a cab to Orient Beach, went to Ethnic and had a perfect beach day. The plan was to do the same, but this time I thought we would try Orange Fever. First breakfast at Blue Iguana. I had the breakfast burrito and arepa. This was such a good way to do breakfast, especially on a port day. it was quick and it was not the buffet. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr We had an uneventful cab ride, which we shared with several other people, so I think it was $14 for both of us. We arrived at Orange Fever and not many other people were there so we got the chairs and umbrellas on the second row. For the one price it included chair, umbrella and a rum punch (or beer or soft drink). image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr
Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 20, 2014 Author #40 Share Posted July 20, 2014 I always try to try one new thing when on vacation. We went up to the shaded area to have lunch. It took a while, but that is beach time. Also why we knew not to schedule too tightly in the caribbean. Escargot in Blue Cheese sauce, heavenly: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr They had on special a seafood pizza, it ended up qualifying for something I had not had before, it had mussels, escargot, calamari and shrimp on it. I liked, my husband was going to order something but could not decide, but when we saw the pizza we split it, it was too big for one person and between the two of us we still had leftovers: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr My Orange Fever: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr We took a cab back, but because it was just the tow of us it was $20. My husband wanted me to go to the hot tub on deck 5 with him. NCL Getaway, I think: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr The hot tub, it was way too hot, someone called guest services, but no one ever came, I had to get out earlier than I wanted because it gave me a headache: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr I got out and sat on the big round chairs and had a Mai Tai, I wanted to email this picture to work, but was having problems with my email: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr

Rare alrichards4003 Posted July 22, 2014 Author #44 Share Posted July 22, 2014 It was my husband's turn to pick a shore excursion. He chose the train and boat ride. I understand St. Kitts is not an overly developed port, but we were kind of underwhelmed by the choice in shore excursions. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr The boat ride was the first part of the excursion. Half of the group went on the train first and the rest of us on the boat. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr We enjoyed the boat portion more than the train. The crew on the boat were fun and the rum punches didn't hurt either. It was then time for the train ride. It was an antique or antique painted train. We were served pina coladas or sodas, a group of women sang, they sounded like angels and at one point were given a brown sugar candy. It tasted like instant diabetes, brown sugar soaked in honey. I of course liked it, but a lot of people had sugar crashes. The train ride was a little too long and there was a family with some girls 8-10 years old and they were fine for the first 45 minutes, but after that were restless. Just something to keep in mind if you have kids and are contemplating this trip. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr
