sooner ray Posted April 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Good---Food and people. Bad ---Entertainment,Embarcation-no chairs to wait to board. Why charge for internet access? Can 3 dollars really matter to them? Repeat cruisers said the staff was understaffed. Still, great cruise and we go again NYC to New England Sept 30. SteveBear Posted April 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2004 All lines charge for Internet access. Silversea's methodology is the most reasonable of any line, charging only for upload and download time, rather than for total elapsed time. Run for your lives; it's a grumpily pedantic bear. sooner ray Posted April 29, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Ye,but still,it is cheap. They should show more class. Thanks
goeurope Posted April 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Well, they've got to pay a satellite provider, and satellite links cost a little more than an AOL dial-up connection. :-) Just as important, having a meter running is one way to make sure that a handful of passengers don't tie up the computers all day. -- Durant Imboden Europeforvisitors.com
azgkrudi Posted May 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Sooner Ray, I don't think we ever did meet - that's too bad! We had a FANTASTIC time and already have our next cruise booked - trying the Whisper this time. Wow, if they were understaffed, I never knew it! sooner ray Posted May 6, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Kristin, I agree. They seemed fully staffed except at lunch. We go to New England Sept. 29 on SS. You may have met me,as I was Cher on the stage. Ray
azgkrudi Posted May 7, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Oh my gosh!!! You did a FABULOUS job. In fact, we had dinner with Pete Michaels the following night and he said he wished he had someone like you every time he called for an audience volunteer! I was laughing so hard, I was crying. I won't soon forget it! Kristin
