Liberty of the Seas Wireless Internet Question

I've read the wireless internet is pretty bad on LOS. I was thinking of getting it for me and my family so we can iMessage on the ship to keep in touch throughout the day. Does anyone know if it's effective for that purpose or is it too slow? Any ship areas where the internet doesn't work? Thanks!

The WiFi is all over the ship and will work fine for iMessage. Note that you will have to purchase internet pakcages for every device.

Hi - Mets fan in NJ here too! :)

 

I was on Liberty of the Seas in May. The shipboard Internet worked well for much of the 10 days, good enough for video chats on Skype and also to listen to the Stanley Cup Playoffs via Sirius app. There are wireless routers all around the ship, but apparently only in public areas. Usually had bad connections inside my stateroom.

 

We did have some problems when we had cloudy skies since the ship's Internet relies on satellite reception. I would say if you're planning to go on the Internet a lot on both devices then get it. But it may not be worth getting it to chat only. Just my opinion.
