JimandPamm Posted October 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2005 We are going out of Long Beach on the Carnival Pride in March and plan to arrive 3 days early for sightseeing. We're not sure what to do about getting to the port on the morning of the cruise. Does anyone know if there are any hotels within walking distance of the pier, or with a shuttle service? Also, are there any car rental places nearby?
Rare maren91 Posted October 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 2, 2005 Hello- You can rent a car at the airport, you need a car in Los Angeles to get anywhere and taxis are expensive. You can stay in the Long Beach area and check out Queen Mary and the Long Beach Harbor, nice area. My favorite hotel is the Hyatt overlooking the harbour and only about a 5 min drive to the port. If you have a car you can drive to Los Angeles and check out the Hollywood area, Universal CityWalk, Beverly Hills, etc. Hope this helps :) -Maren
doryv Posted October 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2005 We stayed at the Coast hotel last Saturday before getting on the Pride 10/02. The hotel is not only within walking distance but they offer a free shuttle to the pier that is easier than dragging your luggage ;) ! We took Super Shuttle from LAX, you definitely need a car to get around!
