Miss Muffett Posted October 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2016 Does anyone have any experience of obstructed view cabins on Britannia? I know the balcony is quite small but how bad is the obstructed view. Val.
PhilJamesWill Posted October 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2016 These are some photos of cabin G306. The balcony isn't really obscured, you can see over the top of the life boat. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
GP&LK Posted October 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2016 P&O have some pictures on: https://ask.pocruises.com/help/PO/fleet/Obstructed_BT Also this is the Princess equivelant of Britannia: https://sites.google.com/site/royalregalprincess/home/8-emerald
danielundecided Posted October 17, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2016 I believe if you go on P&O's FAQ page and you type in "what do the obstructed views look like on Britannia?" it brings a page up with photos of each individual balcony. When we were looking at a cruise to the fjords on her we saw that quite a few "obstructed view" balconies weren't obstructed at all. Henderson1 Posted October 17, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2016 We had G412 which looked down onto Glass House outside deck so no obstruction whatsoever, woukd choose this cabin again! Jackie
kingstontricia Posted October 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2016 Hi Jackie We are due to sail in G410 shortly, next door to your cabin. I understand these cabins are above a smoking area, did you find this an issue? Thanks Tricia
Henderson1 Posted October 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2016 Tricia, smoking was outside Java on our cruise to Canaries, so no problem. Ideal cabin location, lifts could be iffy but we didnt stress and got one soon enough. Our cabin steward was excellent and so hard working. You'll love it if you've not done Britannia before, we were a bit nrrvous of the size, yes she's big but after a few days you don't really notice. We had no problems getting on and off at the ports or with the shuttle buses, we just let the eager beavers go and sauntered off when ready. Go to and try the Glass House food, it was excellent. kingstontricia Posted October 18, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 18, 2016 Dear Jackie Thanks for the reply and the excellent write up for these cabins. We are cruising with P and O for the first time having done quite a few trips with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean previously. We did not realise that there was a smoking area below the cabins but we will just hope for the best and trust the sea breezes do their job. Henderson1 Posted October 18, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 18, 2016 Tricia, they announced at muster where the smoking areas were so we had no problem as on opposite side. Part of the Sunset Bar at the back was smoking and really smokey but we went out the opposite side door and no problem. Have a great cruise Jackie
