martyap Posted March 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Just wondering.......we booked a June 2018 Allure cruise aboard the Allure last April. At the time we booked the CP balcony fare per person was about $1300 + $100 for fees and taxes or about $2800 total per cabin. During the past 10 months we have taken advantage of various “sales” the most recent when we switched our five cabin booking to the non refundable deposit promo.........the final per person cost is now about $600 + $300 fees and taxes or about $1800 total per cabin. Not complaining....we saved $5000 on our five cabin booking since the initial reservation last April...........but how does the fare get cut in half and the taxes, fees, port charges still TRIPLE? Sent from my iPad using Forums Did you end up booking with a TA. Their taxes and fees also include an item called non commissionable cruise fare which with prices from Royal is included in the price. You have to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. The taxes and fees do change but I haven’t seen them change that much, usually it’s $25 or so. DaytonCruiser Posted March 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2018 I’m still seeing your taxes and fees at under $100, so I agree you must be seeing a different breakdown from your TA Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

When I originally booked directly with RCCL the invoice showed "taxes, fees, port charges" $96 pp When I transferred to Costco Travel their very first invoice showed "taxes & fees" $96 pp All subsequent Costco invoices, which I never really noticed, shows "taxes, fees, MISC" $321 pp This might have something to do with their math and rewards program. In addition to the $100 cash card they are giving me per cabin my membership gives me back 2% on yearly expenditures at the club but not on the fees portion of the cruise invoice. I am happy with the price we have.....just wondered about the math.
