Smokey596 Posted January 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2019 Hello! Cruising at the end of February on the Sky and spending a day each in Freeport, Key West, Great Stirrup Cay, and Nassau. I'm debating whether or not to get the social media package. Can anyone tell me if I would be able to get good signals and/or wifi while in each of these ports? If so, I suppose I could do all of my posting and uploading during those times. Thank you for any help!
adjensen Posted January 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2019 WiFi in ports can be pretty hit and miss, not to mention potentially sketchy. Many bars and restaurants have free WiFi, if you're eating and drinking in there. Speed can be an issue, so if your idea of a great port day isn't sitting in a bar, trying to upload pictures to Facebook and cursing the time you're spending, because a hundred other patrons are doing the same thing, there might be better options (get the package on the ship, wait til you're home, etc,) out there. Establishment places are probably your best bet, but ask a couple of the crew members where they go when ashore -- they usually have a good handle on places to connect to the Internet. Smokey596 Posted January 18, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted January 18, 2019 Good advice! Thank you! Probably worth paying for on ship, although it's about five times what Carnival charges for the same thing. 😕
