Bid Upgrade and Drink Package Questions

Traveling for the first time on MSC and the Meraviglia this Thu and put in a bid for one of the Yacht Club cabin categories. The bid still shows Pending. Has anyone experienced getting an upgrade the day before the cruise or even the day of the cruise since we only have a few days left?

Also since this is a 3 night cruise drink packages are not able to be purchased in advance. Does anyone have any experience with the cost of the drink packages to purchase onboard and which one in your opinion is the better option to take? Would prefer not to do the most expensive one if I don't need to. Thanks!

Still have a bid for Aurea Pending (boarding tomorrow).

The answer from MSC ist, you can cancel your bid up to 54h before. But they can assign the upgrade until check In.

Drink packages should be around 30 USD / Euro per day for Easy package.

Just let you to have a calculation basis. Usually MSC calculates with 20 USD / Euro per day if you book the Easy package with the cruise directly.

Sometimes they do not offer drink packages on the 3 day cruises; the cruise lines make money off of the drink packages on longer cruises.  Reason being is that on day 1 - drink your face off, day 2 - continue to drink your face off, day 3 - wow, this is fun, day 4 - liver says "hold on a minute".. and by then the consumption stabilizes so that on average the consumption is profitable for the cruiseline.   So it's not cost beneficial for them to offer drink packages on a 3 night bachelor party "blow out" cruise.
