single bag rule

Good afternoon

Just checking, not flown out with P & O for a few years.

Are you allowed to carry purchases in the duty free on in a separate bag or does it have to fit inside your single allowance bag please?

I'm also assuming a small cross body bag is also not allowed?

Thank you

If flying Tui their rules are that you have only one bag as carry on and any purchases must fit in it.  I’m just back from Caribbean on Tui flights and no one checked, so my wife had a small case and her handbag and I had a carry on case and a small bag for Kindle and headphones.  Many passengers had more than one bag.  The overhead lockers coped.

All airlines permit exceptions for duty free bags … it’s part of their agreement with the airports.  But other than duty free bags, it is one item only (if they choose to enforce, which is quite rare, and only usually on very full flights)
