Radiance embarkation times

My son is taking the Radiance out of Miami on Sunday. He is now down in Miami and will be meeting his friends on the ship. What is a good time to get to the pier for boarding?

My son is taking the Radiance out of Miami on Sunday. He is now down in Miami and will be meeting his friends on the ship. What is a good time to get to the pier for boarding?

 

Last weekend we left the Marriott at 10:15 were at the port by 10:30. We went right inside and were shown to a waiting area. There was a separate waiting area for C&A people...but we weren't C&A. There were signs outside saying embarkation was at 2:00 but we just ignored them and went in anyway. They let us on at 11:00 with directions to go right to the Windjammer which was set up for lunch. Rooms were not available until 1:00. They were already selling wine & dine packages, soda cards, etc. at 11:00, too. We went and made our Portofino & Chops reservations, had lunch, walked around and went to our room at 1:00 and our flowers were already there. We had our luggage, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries by 1:15 and were unpacked and sitting on our balcony before the 2:00 embarkation time! SWEET! Your son will have a great time on the Radiance. We did!

They always say boarding is at 2pm so that the people who do know they can show up early do and the people who don't know show up at 2pm or later to try to keep things not so backed up when boarding.

Yes, I ordered on the RCCL Gifts and Gear site before we left as a surprise for DH's first cruise. 9 strawberries and bottle of Korbel for $39.95. It was item # 000525.
