mistyw Posted June 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2007 This was my 12th. cruise...loved them all but this one far exceeded my expectations! Embarkation was easy. My oceanview room for one was adorable and always a pleasure to return to. I especially loved the towel animals that greeted me each night. The shows & pool games were fantastic. The photo staff did a fabulous job. The food in all of the restaurants and buffets was very, very good and the bar service was always prompt & friendly. I met many new friends and danced every dance to the most amazing band "The Reminisants." They made the dances interactive, fun and made you feel welcomed. In particular I enjoyed the dances by the pool and the pool games which brought pleasure to all who either watched or participated. The staff who ran these deserve a huge, huge round of applause. They far exceeded those I've done before. Best conga line I've ever been in!! I loved the Casino. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The choice of slots was top notch! This is a smaller ship...very easy to get around, clean & well maintained. The staff far exceeded my expectations as far as friendliness & willingness to help. This put me at ease. Disembarkation was a breeze and getting to the parking garage and pier also. I am already planning my next cruise!! It was that good! ddoll Posted June 21, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2007 Ooh! What a delightful review. It made me more excited for my own cruise, just reading it (even though I'm going on the Crown and not the Majesty ;)). Thank you!!

At least you worked off some of the food with all your dancing. :D If you do a search on webshots for Norwegian Majesty, you will come up with many pictures. BeachMartini Posted June 22, 2007 #8 Share Posted June 22, 2007 I loved the Star Bar on the Dawn, so fun to drink martinis. Is there something similar on the Maj?
angeljt Posted June 22, 2007 #9 Share Posted June 22, 2007 I loved the Star Bar on the Dawn, so fun to drink martinis. Is there something similar on the Maj? We love the Star Bar too. The Majesty has The Royal Observatory, The Polo Club, The Coffee Bar, The Pool Bar, Topsiders and The Rendezvous. We had our Martini Tasting in The Polo Club. The bars are not like the Star Bar, but we still enjoyed them. The Royal Observatory is all the way forward on the Norway deck and turns into the Pasta Cafe for dinner. It has windows that give you a great view of the ocean. Make reservations as soon as you can if you want to eat there.
BeachMartini Posted June 22, 2007 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Thanks Angel! Does the bar open back up after dinner?
angeljt Posted June 22, 2007 #11 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Thanks Angel! Does the bar open back up after dinner? Yes, I believe the bar stays open from noon until closing. They also have Karaoke there later in the night. I believe it is from 10:15 or 10:30 PM until midnight. The bars don't have a time listed for closing, they all just say the time they open until closing. I guess they'll stay open as long as there are people there. We never went for Karaoke, just popped in one night to look around before going to our cabin, which was right next to the Royal Observatory. We liked the Polo Bar, but the Rendevous is nice also. When are you going? If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. :) Can you believe how mean some of those people are about that poor kid who fell!!! I know it was a foolish thing he did, but they're too much!!! Very sad.:( Jackie

No traveling beforehand, easy breezy! I'm sure I will think of more questions as we get close. I'm a little dissapointed in the roll call, or lack there of. Hopefully some people will come out of hiding as the departure approaches. First time we're taking a cruise without other couples or friends, I hope we don't get sick of each other or bored! Are there a lot of activities on sea days? I keep seeing reviews of people saying they were bored on the ship. And yes, I am dismayed by that other thread. Some people are really callous!
WildHeart Posted June 22, 2007 #13 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Ally, I will be sailing on the Majesty July 15th, along with my 17 niece and one of her friends. We will be taking the train from CT into Boston that morning - do you suggest taking a taxi or the "T" to the pier? Thanks, Wendy
BeachMartini Posted June 22, 2007 #14 Share Posted June 22, 2007 I would say just take a cab to make it easier. Much quicker and less of a hassle, no going up stairs with luggage, etc. Happy Sails and I look forward to reading your review:cool:

Some people are really callous! I bet you're excited. We got a ride from my Mom's house in Malden last year, and it was 5 minutes to the ship and back. So very convenient. Are you right in Boston? I sent a message to your roll call regarding the date you had posted. Hopefully, that is the reason no one else is answering. The Majesty roll calls are not very active. I thought the same thing last year, but we ended up with a few people on ours. I scheduled a meet & greet for 25 or so people, but we only ended up with around 10 or 12. We met a fun couple and hung out with them a lot of the time. We still get together once in a while and went away for New Year's. We had a bar set up in our room, so we entertained often also. :D We also met several other nice people. It is different with Freestyle. They will sit you with others for breakfast or lunch if you want. Might be a good way to meet people. I don't think you'll be bored, but it depends on what you're looking for. I can be happy reading a book or people watching at the pool or bar. They have deck parties at night and entertainment in the lounges, so I hope you'll find something you like. If you're beach people, Bermuda will keep you very happy. My BIL & SIL are going on the July 1st cruise on the Majesty, and they're used to going with friends too. I think you'll find plenty of room on the Majesty. There aren't any lounge chairs by the pool, just tables and chairs. The lounges are up one deck on the very large sun deck above the pool. The Piazza San Marco also has good burgers, pizza, salads, fruit, and hot dogs for a quick lunch or snack. I also had good luck in the casino on the Majesty. If you like to gamble, make sure you sign up for the Casinos at Sea program. You're welcome, glad to answer any questions you might have......

angeljt Posted June 22, 2007 #23 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Misty / Angel Are those menus you posted from the Majesty fairly current (ie this years) ? Thanks Sorry, I thought I had a date on the menus and pics. It was June 11th week of 2006. I also posted the menus for the Dawn, Nov/Dec 2006, which was after the menu change. I believe the menus are the same though the fleet, but you don't know which ones you'll get unless you can find a recent Majesty cruiser to post them. When are you cruising? berryberry Posted June 22, 2007 #24 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Angel - thanks. We leave in a few weeks - 7/8 - and I was trying to find the 2 worst menu nights, one to eat at the Pasta Cafe, one to eat in Bermuda via the dine a shore progam If anyonce has recently been on the majesty - and cen even post what "theme nights" each night was, that would be a help Thanks
