Car Rental through Priceline?

I will be spending a few days on Key Biscayne pre-cruise in October and I will be flying in and out of Fort Lauderdale as my cruise is out of Port Everglades. Has anybody ever bidded on their Car Rental through Priceline? Were you satisfied with how it turned out and do you have any suggestions or recommendations?

Do your homework first and find the best deal you can w/o Priceline... then try to beat it.

However, car rental deals thru Priceline are not usually that great and can often be beat thru conventional methods (especially if you can find a coupon code to use). Part of the problem is the Priceline booking fee ($6) which adds a big percentage to a short term rental... especially in an area such as Florida where the car rental rates are very inexpensive to begin with.
