so, if you fly into barcelona is there a place @ the airport or the dock to purchase wine to take aboard? i will not take the chance of packing it in my luggage, but do like wine in the cabin.

If I remember correctly, there is a duty free liquor shop as you go thru the port terminal to get on the ship in Barcelona.

There are several terminal buildings in Barcelona. And while I know it is true for some, I don't know whether it is true for all.

According to the fine print, you're allowed 2 bottles of wine per stateroom. You could always purchase wine at Duty Free from your home airport- have never used duty free in Spain only v. cheap local stores. Then carry on board so they won't have to rip your suitcase apart completely looking for it...

Just to let you know, I've carried all sorts of bottles of booze in my suitcase and so has my husband. We pack sport clothes around the bottles, make sure the case is packed tight so the bottles won't move around. I put a heavy plastic bag around the bottle - sometimes even the large zip-lock bags fit. My husband says I'm paranoid but just in case.

I carried an expensive bottle of champagne last year to St. Martin, my husband has carried cans!!! of beer!!!

As long as they're well packed, not moving and to be sure pack in a heavy duty plastic bag with a twist-tie.

We've been to Canary Islands, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, etc. - always booze in bags - and never ever a spill..

Bon Voyage
