Nassau Tours - what's best?

We will be on an eastern caribbean cruise with the first stop in Nassau. Should we book cruises through the ship or direct on the island? What would be a good cruise for a family with two daughters (10 and 12)? We would like to see the island but nothing too strenuous. Thanks.

I would love to know more about the tours. We are looking for something non beach/sunbathing related for our stop. Thinking of one of the cruise line city tours with some history stuff. Anyone have any recommendations/avoids? We plan to do enough sun stuff at our other stop.

walking out of the terminal they have horse carriage rides. Only lasts about 10 minutes but if was a fun thing to do. Haggle down the price.

We did stewarts cove for snorkeling... 2 different spots and swimming with sharks. I think it was $38
