Conquest -- Embarkation Traffic

Don't know if anyone else has posted this. Since I'm on Conquest, I know you'll all understand that I didn't take the time to search before posting.

Traffic was INCREDIBLE on the way to Conquest this past Sunday. I was easily within walking distance to the port but had too much luggage to hoof it from the Doubletree. It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes in a taxi to get to the ship. It took someone in our group staying at the Sheraton 2 hours! This was the 1'st week for new fencing/construction that took many lanes of traffic down to just two. It was a MESS. My cab driver was getting angry because it was blowing his day and he wasn't going to earn as much (meter wasn't running - flat charge).

Maybe things will be better this week, or perhaps getting to the port later or earlier would have results. My plan had been to arrive at 11:00, and I got there at 12:15. The good thing about it was that there was NO line inside (hardly anyone else had arrived). So, I didn't have to sit in a SINGLE YELLOW CHAIR!!! :D

Conquest is great! I'll post a review when I return. If anyone has questions they'd like answered while I'm on the ship, feel free to email me: nina@ninaco.com. Doubt I'll be checking the boards.
