Gardens, zoo and San cristobel-Santiago

Staying at the Sheraton Santiago (Ave. Santa maria 1742). Two full days to take in some of the sights.

One day we planned to do the gardens, zoo and San Cristobel/Virgin. Transport by cab, metro or walk? Suggestions, costs, directions?

The second day we thought we would take something like a city tour. We like hop on and off buses, but cannot find any in Santiago? Have we missed it? Any suggestions on a tour company to choose for a "city tour". Also interested in visiting the Museum of Natiral History. If not the above, perhaps a wine tour of the Maipo Valley. Not a problem to check the internet to find a tour, but would prefer a recommendation.

We prefer to have things somewhat lined up in advance. We get in late the night before, have two full days and then the last morning we head for the ship.
