Ferry info. wanted

Going to Bermuda for the first time in August. From reading the boards, the buses & ferries seem to be the way to get around. Can anyone tell what the ferries are like: how many people they hold, their size, are there bathrooms on them ect. And how long does it take to get from the Dock Yard to Hamilton & St. George?

Ferries are very fast, clean and modern with a restroom. You can sit inside in the air conditioning or topside in the open air with much better sightseeing along the way.

 

Can't find my ferry schedule at the moment to give you times.

The Orange route is listed as a M-F commuter route. Is there any type of ferry service between the Dockyard and St. George's on Saturdays in the summer? Or, will we have to ferry to Hamilton and bus to St. George's?

they did add a run or two last fall but generally no Ferry service to St george on weekend...

There will sufficient ferry service between Dockyard and Hamilton so cruise ship passengers can enjoy Destination Dockyard and Harbour Nights! An additional 7pm tender will go from Hamilton to Dockyard in addition to the regularly scheduled 6.30pm and 8pm ferries. Ferries will be returning to Hamilton every hour until 11.30pm 5-nights a week, Monday-Friday! On Wednesdays there will be a 6.05pm ferry from St. George's and a 7pm ferry from Dockyard both going to Hamilton for Harbour Nights. The 7pm ferry is in addition to the already scheduled 6.30 and 8pm ferries. A ferry to Dockyard will leave every hour until 11pm. A special Wednesday ferry from Hamilton to St. George's direct will leave at 10pm. Enjoy a 20 minute ferry trip on Bermuda's Sea Express ferry with regular stops at Dockyard.

 

From mid-April to November, the ferry offers a direct trip between St George and Dockyard. The one-way fare is $4 for adults, $2 for children and tickets, token and passes are accepted. The most popular method of payment for visitors is the Transportation Pass, which is good for unlimited rides on the bus and ferry system. The Passes cost $12 for one day, $28 for three 3 days, $35 for four days and $45 for seven days. This route can also carry cycles at a cost of $4.
