Despite the lack of reviews, we booked our snorkeling excursion thru Island Marketing LTD. We even booked thru them, our taxi service at $15/person for convenience and peace of mind. Honestly I can say, we have absolutely no regrets.

The Dreams Catamaran trip departs from the beach of the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort, a 20 minute drive from Charlotte Amalie. Our Islander Taxi Service was a local woman who was a lot of fun and it was like getting a mini sight-seeing tour of St. Thomas.

At the resort we were met by a young fellow named Jesse and after a brief dinghy ride to the catamaran, we joined 8 other passengers and the other operator, Ocean (yes that’s his real name and his siblings are Sky and Forest). After giving our info and balances due and after brief instructions, we were off to St. John. Drinks flowed and snacks were offered.

Obviously Jesse and Ocean have been sailing a while. They spotted a couple of humpback whales swimming along side the boat. After cutting the engines we took a bunch of pictures and reveled in this rare event. We sailed to 3 different spots for some great snorkeling. If you didn’t want to snorkel they would either dinghy you to the beach or you could relax and drink rum punch aboard the boat. Snorkeling gear was included and sanitized. The bathroom was a bit primitive but not disgusting.

At one of the snorkeling spots we were served lunch consisting of salads, sandwiches, fruit and chips. Nothing extravagant, but still delicious and very presentable. For two young guys, we were very surprised and pleased with their professionalism and knowledge.

They got us back in time to meet up with our ride back and we reached port with plenty of time to spare.

Ok only one regret…that the time went by so fast.

Do not hesitate to book thru Island Marketing. We will definately try to get to St. Thomas/St. John again and hook up with the guys again. That's if Jesse changes his mind and stays in St. Thomas instead of heading to Colorado as he indicated.

The price was $115/adult and $57.50/children under 12, and 2 and under free. A 25% deposit is due at booking. Our total for 2 adults and 2 children was $345.00 (plus a tip at the end). Well worth it btw!!!

The full day sail is 7 hrs.

We went to 3 different snorkeling spots.
