Pride Comments

Recommended Posts

After sailing several times on RCCL and Princess, we decided to try the Pride out of Baltimore. The following are my observations in no particular order.

Embarkation was terrific and the Port of Baltimore is a dream compared to others. The debarkation went just as well with self debarkation. We were off in 20 minutes and thru Customs after they called our deck.

We used Your Time dining and the service we received was as good as any we have seen on the high seas. The quality of the meals were also very good. One thing I did notice is maybe a few less choices than the others but the quality was very good. We did notice shorts, T shirts, and flip flops in the dining room at dinner. While we did not mind, RCCL and Princess would probably not allow this type of dress.

We had an obstructed view cabin (4195) and were quite pleased. We paid for a guaranteed inside and got upgraded. The room was spacious, storage more than we are used to seeing, and the biggest shower we have seen on any ship. We thought the room and location was very nice.

The shows were average as we went to about half. The poolside band Caribbean Soundtrack was pretty bad for our taste.

Our biggest negative was the smoking. The outer decks allowed smoking on the starboard side. Many smokers chose to smoke all over the outer decks and no one enforced the rules. The casino was like a vapor cloud and we could not stay and gamble. Went the one time and never went back. Several of the club venues allowed smoking as well and it seemed more people smoked on the voyage than we have ever seen. I wish something could be done about smoking or at least the rules enforced.

Overall we had a great cruise. We wondered if we would see any decrease in service, food quality, or other services between Carnival and RCCL and Princess. We did not see or experience big differences. For what we paid, the Pride out of Baltimore was a terrific value, a fun cruise, and we will certainly consider sailing on the ship or others out of Baltimore in the future.

Pride on three! Pride on three! Pride on three! Pride!!!!!

How was the water in the Atlantic did you see alot of seasickness?

Did you do any shore excursions? How were the ports? When did you sail?

Did you see people bringing cases of bottled water on board

Thanks

The water was almost like bath water. I have never seen less waves on the ocean. Smooth sailing going and coming. We did the day pass at the Wyndam Cable Beach in Nassau and had a very relaxing day. Shopped at the port and drank some local beer in Freeport. Never saw anyone with bottled water although they offered it for sale each night at dinner. The water had a faint off taste the first night but after that, I did not notice any off taste.
