envy4u Posted July 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Any suggestions as we do not like doing ship tours.
PH Posted July 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2009 Both times we were there we hired an English speaking cab driver. We paid him %50 for the day and he stayed with us and got paid at the end. We went shoping, to the fort and spent some time at the beach. Both times about 4 or 5 hours. PH

mauicruiser Posted August 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2009 Hi We went out on the dock and "interviewed" several drivers. We ended up with a driver and his father, who acted as guide. He spoke perfect English and knew much about his city. We selected the things that the tours did that we wanted to see and also stopped at a grocery store (supermercado)and bought wonderful Columbian coffee at a tiny price. I only regret I didn't buy one of the primitive quilts--but they were tooo expensive. Have fun!
