grandbanksguy Posted August 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2009 Take a virtual walk through Rome. Open www.maps.google.com and enter an exact street address in the find box. Try pasting this one “via degli ibernesi, 30, 00184 roma (RM), Italy” in the box. It will bring up a satellite view of the area with an address box in it. Click on “Street View” in the address box and it will take you to a virtual street view. If you click and drag the arrows on the faint lines in the view you can walk your way around Rome. You can also click and drag the mouse to rotate or tilt the view up or down. If you click and drag the figure on the little map in the lower right corner it will take the street view to that location. Try walking around the Duomo in Florence or down La Rambla. We used this site to checkout the neighborhood around our hotel in Barcelona. Sorry that it doesn't work in Venice. Have fun. :)
waterbug1 Posted August 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2009 This is BIG fun! I just spent the last half hour exploring the area around the hotel where I will be staying in November. I am so happy that it is in such a great location. Thanks so much for posting this Grandbanksguy. It is a very cool site.:D

Good for when you need to cover a bigger area and still get an idea of what the neighborhood looks like. Speaking of neighbors, we live in Marlton Village.
