NCL Jade (or Jewel Class ships) - cabin 8550

We just booked this "obstructed view" cabin. I've found information saying this cabin isn't really very obstructed.

My question is, it looks like it's above the corner of the "Fyzz Bar & Lounge". If you've stayed in this cabin, is it loud late at night from the bar?

Thanks in advance:)

Kristi--

My group had the first 3 cabins in category GG (obstructed view) on both sides (8550,8552,8554,8050, 8052, 8054) on the Jewel for the Baltics last year. I was in 8054, and I could hear the art auctions during the day, but nothing from the Karaoke bar beneath me at night. The two rooms ahead of me could hear some Karaoke, but it ended about 11:30. I don't remember hearing complaints from the rooms on the port side. None of the first three rooms on either side are really obstructed. We saw them as great deals!

Great news Susan, Thanks! I've read several older comments on those particular rooms and they all said it was a great deal, minimal obstruction. No one mentioned anything about noise but I was a little concerned.

We booked the NCL guaranteed oceanview and we see that is 8550! I have read so many reviews about it. I was told that we are eligible for an automatic upgrade to balcony if available? How likely is this?? Thanks.

Not sure how close 8553 is, but we were in it on the Jade a few weeks ago. There were a few nights with some late night music that seemed louder than it should have been (fortunately we don't need absolute quiet to sleep, but if we had a choice again we'd probably book elsewhere). I believe on the Jade the music was coming from the Medusa Lounge on deck 7 below our room.
