Are there any Luxury Cruises from NYC to Bermuda?

Nothing

Recommended Posts

My husband and I would like to take a cruise to Bermuda (we live in NJ) not just because we have heard it is beautiful but also to "get our feet wet" with cruising as this will be our very first cruise. I have read so many posts here on ship reviews that my head is spinning. It seems no matter what ship you choose there are complaints about something. I don't know which line to choose. My husband and I are in our 50's and we are not on a budget. What I would sincerely appreciate is some help trying to decide what ship to take. I have tried to find luxury cruises from the NY area to Bermuda but I cannot find any. Do they not offer this route? I have heard RC is the best cruise to Bermuda and was considering that if I could not find a luxury cruise. I would like a suite type room, so if anyone has suggestions about who has the best offerings with that I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks!

The luxury lines do not do just a cruise from NYC to Bermuda. They may include a stop in Bermuda among many other stops, but not just those short hop cruises to Bermuda. I was on Crystal in November that started in NYC and it's first stop was Bermuda, but then we continued on to the Southern Caribbean and ended in Miami--12 days total. Short haul cruises are the mass market lines bread and butter.

I've been on many RCI cruises and they are not at all luxury, just your basic mass market line. Their food is not great, just your basic banquet food and service is spotty. Their ships, when compared to the luxury lines, are huge.

Thanks for replying:) I do know that RC is not a luxury cruise. I meant that it is probably the cruise that we would take if we could not find a luxury cruise from NYC to Bermuda. It is a shame that they do not have one. I see quite a few 7 day cruises to Bermuda and it would have been nice to be able to spend those 7 days in luxury. I guess we are going to have to take a more mainstream cruise then. Is there a particular one that you would recommend? As I said before, my husband and I are first-timers and more than likely our experiences on this first trip will determine whether or not we ever cruise again. Thanks so much for your help!

If Celebrity does that cruise, I would definitely go with them. They are a bit more upscale and I feel they have better food than lines like NCL or RCI. I've had the great fortune to have cruised on most of the lines out there (63 done with 64 and 65 coming up soon), and I think if you want something a little more upscale from Carnival or RCI, I would say for you to check Princess, HAL or Celebrity. They are a cut above the mass markets. But, if you're wanting lots of activities and a Vegas glitz type of cruise, then go with Carnival or RCI.

Bermuda

Just so you don't think I'm a total crazy person, I just happened to do this doc yesterday for a friend so thought I'd share...

hyperlinks specific to Bermuda included.

I would look strongly at the Regent cruises but if you want something shorter, I agree with a PP to consider Celebrity.

Celebrity has 15 cruises in 2010 out of Cape Liberty.

HAL - 23 (NY).

NCL - 22 (NY).

RCI - 16 (NJ) and 4 for 2011 (NJ).

Carnival - 1 in 2010 and 1 in 2011 (NY).

MSC is out of FLL x 1 in 2010.

Regent is out of FLL x 1 in 2010 (11 night cruise with 4 days in Bermuda)

and x1 in 2011 (10 night cruise with 4 days in Bermuda). Also the Oct 2011 one per dfb's link without a price yet.

Crystal is x 1 in 2011 for a 12 day cruise with 1 day in Bermuda - ends in Miami.

Neither the Regent nor Crystal cruises work for the OP because they want to cruise out of NYC to Bermuda, so those cruises don't work, unfortunately. I'm supposing the OP wants to go from NYC to Bermuda and back.
