Parking in Merida and Driving to Uxmal

We are planning on renting a car in Progreso and driving to Uxmal and if we have time, see some of Merida.

Parking in Merida:

Does anyone know of a good place to park ? Are there parking lots in the center of town ?

Uxmal Driving:

How long does this take from Progreso ? What's the best route with the best road conditions ?

I haven't seen parking garages or parking lots, per se. There is street parking on some streets. Hope you can read traffic signs. Roads are generally good but as you get into the center of Merida, expect traffic conjestion. Not terrible, just be prepared. Even when there for eight

days, I never felt the need for a car. Hope to be back for two weeks

in Oct. Air is not cheap.
