This was my second time going thru the Panama Canal and all I can say is it was still a big WOW. If this is on your bucket list, do it, do it, do it, and do the full transit, before it’s too late.
It is always very hot and humid in Cartegena but 3 things helped immensely, I brought flavored electrocyte powder to add to water bottle and fights the dehydration that happens even with drinking tons of water. We had cooling towels like many golfers use that you wet in the morning, throw in a ziploc and take them out for around your neck when needed. Ours stayed cool enough to help all day. The last thing was invaluable for me, a rechargeable hand fan that is small enough to fit in my tiny purse and has 5 speeds. Was so nice to point it down my neck and in my face. I won’t claim to have been completely refreshed but ended up a lot better than many people on our tour.
I have not verified this but we were told that this cruise on Summit would be the last Celebrity cruise to set sail from Miami. Not sure about the future. The terminal is very old and were told “falling apart”.
We went to the Beyond the Podium talk about how the canal works. Amazing when you think about the limited technology back over a hundred years ago and the feat they accomplished
Meanwhile Marcia was probably wondering what kind of mischief you were off getting into. Hopefully you are sitting at a bar somewhere and can laugh about it now…or maybe not yet🤪
