big_schots Posted February 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2013 Came back from cavetubing last week. Went with cavetubing.bz and had a great time. But, the walk is not easy. If you go with the cruiselines and other operators, you are looking at a 30 minute walk. There are uneven stairs, some with no handrails, and the majority of your walk will be over uneven rocks. Definitely need a hard soled shoe, and not something like water shoes. You can rent those onsite ($3) if you would like. The heat could also be a factor, based on time of year, since they do not let you bring water on the tour. So, it was a good 2 hours between water breaks. Most tours also require you to carry your own tube along the trail. Our guides collected all the ladies tubes and carried them for the duration. Us guys were not so lucky. My tour company gave us an extra cave, which meant another 10 minutes of walking on the trail. I'm not trying to discourage you from going, but it is not a stroll in the park. Once in the "refreshing" water, it is all downhill from there, since your guides will do all the work. You will just need to sit back and enjoy.
