looking for people on 3/18 in Samana for Playa Rincon

We're (family of four) in the process of reserving a taxi and boat to Playa Rincon and need six more people. We will be on the 3/16 Norwegian Dawn leaving out of Miami and arriving in Samana on 3/18. If you'd like to join, let me know and I can send further details; it's with casa dorado.

FYI: We would like to have the cab driver pull over for a short while on our way to the beach so that we can give the local children some small items; just and FYI in case that's a deal breaker.

We are a family of 5(2 adults, a 20, 16 & 15 yr old) from NH that were looking at doing the same thing..

If we are too late just let us know and we will find another way to go.

In the past 24 hours I've found out some other info. There are two other people from the boat that CD (Casa Dorado) offered to set us up with to defray taxi costs (I don't think they are taking the boat but will confirm) and I accepted since I had not read this post yet.

Since that will make 6 for the taxi, I don't think we can fit another party but I'm sure Casa Dorado can reserve another one for your use to come with us on the boat.

Can you mail me a deposit (we've already mailed them a deposit for the whole boat) for your party by March 6th (or let us know when a good date is for you) for $50?

Playa Rincon Excursion - Conde Nast Traveler ranked

this beach as one of the world's 10 best. It's so

splendid, in fact, that many Dominicans refer to it as

the most beautiful on the island. Over three miles

long, Playa Rincon is surrounded by coconut palms and

almond trees, not to mention a 2,000 foot mountain on

one end. The best way to get to this isolated beach is

by boat; a ride that is definitely worth it.

Round-trip boat ride from Las Galeras main beach to

Playa Rincon is $140 for up to 10 people. There are

several small restaurants on Playa Rincon, where you

can order a fish, lobster or chicken lunch.

We can reserve a taxi that will be waiting for you on

the Samana boat Dock and will bring you straight to

Las Galeras main beach and return you at your leisure.

The taxi is $70/roundtrip for up to 8 people and

$80/roundtrip for 9-10 people. The taxi is a large

van/small bus that easily fits 10 passengers.

Sorry to be so late in answering....been down with the flu. So glad I got it before cruising!

Do you know how many people the boat holds for the trip from Las Galeras to Playa Rincon? It sounds like there are at least 10 of you already on the boat. I am happy to contact casa dorado directly but would love to defray the cost of the boat with others from the Dawn if possible. I do think another taxi would be in order since there are 5 of us traveling.

I'm sorry you were ill; I was wondering what happened to you! I'm glad you are better now.

I've emailed them about a larger party and they said that they would send an extra taxi for your party.

The boat can hold 10 people so we could all fit. My children are young so it wouldn't be quite so packed. We only have 4 people so far (my family).

The line about "see me" is a bad attempt to communicate my email address; I get enough spam as it is. mintania is the domain name and it's at hotmail. Hope this helps. Send me an email and we can plan meetings etc further and I can include you in emailed to Roberto.
