joedebnh Posted November 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2005 Cruise Critic published rules for many cruise lines but not MSC. They may have not provided any information. Has anyone had recent experience regarding carrying liquor on board? We like to bring along our favorite Vodka and wines for comsumption in our cabin. Also might need to replenish our supply when visiting a port.
pujro Posted November 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2005 We sailed Opera in the eastern med in september. We weren't checked at all. We bought booze onboard and ashore, and were never challeged, searched, or asked to put it in store.
joedebnh Posted November 16, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted November 16, 2005 I guess things change as the years go by. I have been on many cruises for over 35 years. Still remember when all drinks were under $2 and most were around $1. The ships promoted the fact that they did not pay any taxes on alcohol and gave that advantage back to their customers. I have never been stopped for bringing a bottle for cabin consumption aboard. That includes 4 in the last 2 years on Celebrity, Holland America and Princess. Guess I've been lucky so far. RSGS315 Posted November 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 24, 2005 We found drinks very inexpensive on the Lyrica in February, unlike other cruise lines. It doesn't seem necessary to go through all that trouble and bring your own. Ginnie
