Elva Posted April 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2004 It looks pretty interesting, but I'd like to get some feedback before booking. I thought I'd ask over here on the Royal Caribbean board since the Curacao board is not too active. Thanks!!
selliott Posted April 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2004 I went to Curacao two summers ago and did the Bounty tour (on my own, not through a cruise line). Had a wonderful time. The ship anchored at two spots to snorkel and at one point they let down a rope swing for people to swing from the ship. The lunch served was delicious and plentiful. The crew was friendly and accomodating. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone. By the way, in my group, there were 2 teens and one 9 yr. old. Elva Posted April 11, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Thanks for your reply! How was the snorkeling? Did you see many fish? Also, was this kind of a party atmosphere, or more laid back? We'd be more excited about the sailing and snorkeling than the partying, LOL . This just seemed like a neat way to snorkel versus the typical "boat". Again, I was crossing my fingers to find someone who had been on the Bounty - so I'm really appreciative of your reply. LRRiz Posted April 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I'm going next week and we booked the Bounty, there are about 30-40 people in our group, and lots of teens from 11-17. I'll let you know when we get back. Can't wait, we leave on Friday! Lisa
DMorris Posted April 13, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2004 If you wanted to book this on your own, which tour operator would you recommend? If you have a web site that would be great. suziehmkr Posted April 13, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2004 This is a little off topic... from someone who hasn't travelled much... Is Curacao pronounced "cure-a-sow" or "cu-rock-o" Sounds like a dumb question, but it has been bugging me as I have heard both. Elva Posted April 16, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Hi, I hadn't made it to the boards in the last couple of days, so I haven't seen the most recent replies. But here is the website of the excursion that I originally asked about. Hope that helps. selliott Posted April 17, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 17, 2004 The snorkeling was decent, but not the best I have ever done. One of the places they anchored at was over an old ship wreck which was interesting. When I was on the Bounty, I did not feel it was a "party" atmosphere, however I guess that could change depending on who is on the Bounty with you. The rope swing was a lot of fun! The captain of the Bounty is so kind and very informative. He is actually the one who came and picked us up from our resort. Remember to bring plenty of sunscreen. They had plenty of snorkel equipment aboard, but we did bring our own just in case they didn't. Have fun!
