Train Station Ft Lauderdale

We live in St Pete. I had no idea taking a train was an option. Sounds better than driving and paying for parking. Our next cruise from Ft Lauderdale is this November. So, if we give it a try, I'll let you know how it goes.

Looking forward to your comments. The parking at the Tampa train station is great.. It's free!

we are taking the Silver Star. Leaves Tampa 12:30 and arrives Ft Lauderdale 5:17. It has 6 stops before Ft Lauderdale. Lakeland, Winter Haven, Sebring, West Palm, Deerfield and then Ft Lauderdale, where then it goes to Miami. I guess we can call a taxi van ahead of time? Has any one done this before. Or know of a private shuttle service in that area?

Where did you find the stops? I keep searching all over the Amtrak site.
