What to do between end of cruise and flight.

I am needing some suggestions on what we can do after disembarking our cruise around 0800 and having to be at Fiumicino Airport at 1.00pm for a 3.00pm flight. We are having a few days in Rome before the cruise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

Go to Ostia Antica (closed Mondays). Ostia Antica is right by the airport. It takes 50-60 minutes to drive from Civitavecchia to Ostia. You will be very near the airport (ten minutes by car) so you don't have to worry about traffic and you can cut any activity short if you have to. That will still give you a good couple of hours at Ostia and there is a snack bar/restaurant right there if you choose.

But, how are you getting there? Think of your luggage. If you have a rental car, that takes time to hire it and return it. Most feasible if you have car and driver take you to Ostia and then to the airport.

Another option could be to go to the airport, maybe by cruise transfer, and check your bags. Then take a taxi (Uber?) to Ostia and arrange to get picked up. The issue is how early can you check in for the flight?

Lake Bracciano - go to Bracciano and the Castello Odescalchi

Tarquinia

Cerveteri

Ostia Antica
