Rare markeb Posted September 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2016 Assuming the information on their web page and Google Maps is correct, you are almost adjacent to the Wisconsin (and the Nauticus). The Naval Station is well north of the cruise port, 8-10 miles or more depending on how you go, and puts you into the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel traffic, which can be a nightmare depending on day of week and time of day. It's a cab or maybe a car rental trip (assuming you have ID to get on?). There's apparently a bus (with multiple connections) that will take you well over an hour each way... Thechesapeakecruiser Posted October 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2016 When we dock at Norfolk, are the Nauticus and the Naval Station within easy walking distance, or how do we get to them? Building on what markeb said, the cruise terminal and Nauticus are next to each other, part of the same complex. The Norfolk Naval Station is quite a ways away. A taxi would be best The bus is much more cumbersome. Checking the Hampton Roads Transit website (gohrt, com), you would need to walk to the MacArthur Center light rail station - 6 or 7 long blocks - and catch the 6, 8 or 45 bus to the Downtown Transit Center, then take the 2 bus to the naval station's Exchange Mall, which is outside the gate (according to the website, the bus only goes on base Saturdays and Sundays). Hope this helps.
