Cigars in Amber Cove

I will be visiting Amber Cove on the Carnival Splendor in September. My dad won't be making this trip so I wanted to take him back some Dominican cigars. Does anyone know if they are easy to find close to port? Thanks!

There really isn't anything close to the port in Amber Cove. There is a Cigar Factory in Puerto Plata. You would need to take a taxi. The "factory" really isn't much at all. However, my brother did buy a couple of cigars there for his son. Be sure and bargain if you go. Their initial price was really high. My brother did say he thought they were good quality.
