Australia Day in Sydney

We will be in Sydney during Australia Day. Would you do a Blue Mountain tour that day, come back and see the fireworks in the evening or stay in Sydney and see all of the festivities for the day and evening? Is it really crazy there this day?

Definitely stay in Sydney for the day. There is so much happening, and the atmosphere is wonderful. It's very family friendly, and everyone seems to have a wonderful time. We've taken OS relatives out if they've been here and they've raved about it.

It can get crowded along the harbour foreshore when things are on (like the ferry boat races) but you can avoid crowds if you want. The events are spread out over the harbour and Darling Harbour and up through the city, there's so much to see.

Save the Blue Mountains trip for another day.
