TMobile and a Droid in the Bahamas

I'm on the Fantasy in a couple weeks. I have TMobile and an Android phone that does have "Airplane" mode. I'd like to check emails and Facebook when I'm in Freeport and Nassau, and would appreciate any recent experience you've had using WiFi there and any suggestions. I sure don't want any unexpected major charges on my phone bill! Thanks!
