Another N.O. question

So we decided to stay at least one other night after our cruise off the Elation. We would like to be close to the airport but at the same time, we are looking to stay in an area at least where we can have good places to eat. And even some activities.

Any hotel suggestions...

There isn't much to see or do (or eat) around the airport.

Pick a hotel in the CBD or Warehouse District (bigger rooms and better prices than the French Quarter). The airport is only about a 20 to 30 minute ride from downtown.
