Round trip in November?

Sorry if this has been covered before, but as the search tool is missing...

 

We are planning a xmas market river cruise in Germany in early December, with a round trip Hurtigruten cruise either before or after. If we wait until after, we run into xmas...not desirable for us. How would November be? Are there northern lights then? Any other advice? Thank you...

Last year, there were very good Aurora displays in Scotland as early as August, so November in Norway should be OK so long as the skies are clear enough.

Aurora photographs from Norway showed very good auroras in late summer 2013.
